September 30 - the basement walls are poured

October 12 - Gravel is leveled over the area where the garage will be.

October 26 - Garage walls are up and roof begun.

Inside framing is well underway.

October 27 - The crane showed up nice and early to lift the heavy parts.

How long would this have taken without the machine's help?

From beginning to end, this took about 1 hour.

Daylight is arriving, as are the roof supports.

So exciting!

October 28 - now for the slower parts

The roofline takes shape.

November 1 - this side hasn't been sheeted yet...

but the east side has!

Still November 1 -- progress continues

November 4 - plumbing and heating are being installed.

Also November 4 - the 'returns' on the front roof line..

and shingles go on - brrrr! It was a cold day to work outside.

November 10 - Doors and windows were delivered...

and installed.

November 24 - the furnace is temporarily rigged up in the basement.

Insulation of all the upstairs walls is almost complete.

December 7 - Preparing the basement to pour the concrete floor.

December 8 - the cement truck arrives with cement for the basement floor.

March 23 - Cement truck arrives to pour garage floor.

March 27 - The stairs are carpeted.

The washer & dryer are moved from the rental house and installed.

March 28 - The basement bathroom is being completed.

The dishwasher is hooked up in the basement.

Upstairs, the dishwasher is ready for the electrician,

the fireplace is nearly complete,

and the garage is full of our boxes...
and saws for Don and Stan to use.

Don built the steps and railing for the garage entry.

The stairs are sturdy and well-built.

Stan has completed the tile work in the studio bathroom.

March 30 - The house is finally ready enough so we can move in. However, some things still remain to be finished.

April 12 - On the same day that the laundry room cabinets were delivered, the fireplace people came to get the fireplace working.

Stan installed the doorlatch on the front door.

April 13 - The weather is perfect for putting the stone on the front of the house.

Wow - it really looks nice!

April 21 - the fellows arrive to put the duradeck on the deck.

Whoops, I forgot - March 28 - General Appliance workers installed the central vac system.

May 22 - Victoria Day Weekend - Lay's Stucco arrive to do the scratch coat of stucco.

We never realized all the equipment and men that would be working on our house.

Working on the upper peak takes special equipment and courage.

The men work all day as well as half of the next day to complete the scratch coat.

June 1, 2 - We were away for the weekend when the crew showed up to complete the stucco.

After the main color is completed, the accent color is applied.

This color is called 'Valley Wine'.
